I just read the news about Lynda - her face was smiling from a page of the "Sentry". As usual, seeing a dear person has died is always shocking. When I saw the photo, imediately there was a feeling of kindness, gentleness and what a loss for those of us who had the honor of knowing Lynda. It was always a pleasure being in her presence. Although we haven't seen each other recently, there's someone missing in my heart. Lynda, you were a dear woman!

We live just across the street from Lynda and Richard and have had the pleasure to have known them for 33 years. Lynda and I would have long conversations every time we both took out our trash cans. She would say “We are tough canyon girls”. Lynda was our canyon watch girl and we could feel safe and secure whenever she was home. She would always make sure our dog Hendrix would get back into our yard whenever he would sneak out. She was such a caring, beautiful soul. We will truly miss our canyon friend.

I had the pleasure of working on Lynda’s beautiful garden for the past 2 years. I would see her at least 2 to 3 times per week for the past few years because she wanted her garden to look beautiful year round. I just want to thank her for being such a good person to me and my dad. Winter morning coffees with your signature chocolate milk, text messages with a frog emoji at the end, and sitting down on your front porch at the end of the day having good chit chat and sharing good laughs. So many memories of her that I will cherish forever. Thank you for everything, I will miss you.

This is my second attempt to share my memories of Lynda. She and Richard were the first family I got to kow when we moved to the Canyon. We shared having boys the same age and grade level. That was some 43 + years ago! She agreed to work for us at the Pali for five (?) years which made it even closer bond. My pastor would come in some times for breakfast and enjoyed visiting with her as many of our customers did. Her smile and laughter were infectious. We shared parralel lives over the last 35+ years as we entered the recovery fields following getting sober--she in the treatment facility and I in the counseling area. Then there was Indian Guides the boys and their dads enjoyed the great outdoors. I often found myself bragging to others that she and Richad planned their retirement around scuba diving the pacific ring I belive. Let her smile live in your memories like it does in mine.

Lynda shared that on her way to be her first Sunday morning as the only waitress at the Pali, she found herself yelling a prayer to God stating she knew He was busy due to church services etc but she was going to need some help. Reassured her that yelling was not needed.
