Gregg, sending you my most sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of your son.  May God bring you all peace and may he rest in Gods most heavenly peace.

Dolores Breeze

We were on the high school tennis team together. He was a good guy liked by everyone.
We were devastated when alerted by our son, Will Mengon, of Luke's passing. It was painful not being close enough to offer physical comfort. We will keep Brook and Luke's family in our prayers continually. May God bless and shed his grace on all connected to Luke.

Gregg, Nora and family, thinking of you and wishing you moments of peace and comfort as you remember Luke. From what I've read, he grew into a remarkable man and you are surely proud of all he was. I will continue to hold you all in prayer during this most difficult time. God Bless you all.

I met Luke while leading a Bible study at Columbus AFB in the summer of 2019. The Lord quickly connected the two of us through several shared life experiences, but especially through Jesus. I saw first-hand how the Lord was working in his life by giving him many significant trials in his path to completing USAF pilot training. Luke really magnified Christ in his peaceful trust waiting to see what the Lord would decide about getting to fly. Luke and I met weekly during his stay at CAFB for Christian discipleship and accountability. When we started meeting, I asked him why he wanted to meet together. His answer was that there is nothing and no one more important than Jesus and that he wanted his identity in nothing and no one else. Amen! What a blessing to see a man who loves and fears the Lord. It is such a comfort to know that we will see Luke again!

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Dinner with Luke, Brooke, and…
2023, Japan
Dinner with Luke, Brooke, and Ishi. Luke was an awesome friend and mentor. I had just gotten to Japan and while I had heard his name a lot coming through the pipeline, I had never met him until then. He had a smiling face and warm welcome when I got to the squadron. We learned we both had a mutual friend in Ishi, who was in Luke's T-6 class at Columbus. Ishi flies F-15s for Japan and happened to be down close to Yokota for a day for training so we all got to go out for dinner and get to know each other and catch up with Ishi. Luke was a great person to be around, always willing to help out and go the extra mile. I'll never forget one TDY to Kadena, Luke and Terry Brayman loved going to this breakfast spot for acai bowls. We would all order and walk down to the seawall to sit by the water and eat breakfast before heading in to work. Luke had a great sense of humor too, he was sneaky good at these little one liner jokes that often times would stop me in my tracks having to think about it because they were so clever. Love you and miss you bro. I know you're watching over us from heaven. — with Luke, Brooke and Tatsuya Ishioka

The 7 SOS at RAF Mildenhall, UK passes along our deepest condolences. We wish you all peace and healing in these difficult times. Know that Luke has brothers and sisters all over the world that will keep him in our memories forever.
