Even though we lived 2 hours away from each other, over the 30 years I have known, learned from and was able to share many good times together, Lorne and I had a bond that will be missed for years to come. I know, many are missing him even now.
I had the pleasure of working alongside Lorne, being the honoured benefactor of his teachings, mentorship, logic, humor and kindness. He told me directly in my interview that he could be tough, he certainly kept me on my toes at times, but his passion and care of the business and people shone brightly, which was the pinnacle of his big personality. I remember how excited he was when he found out I keep a spreadsheet for all my car expenses and repairs, we laughed so hard. I feel so incredibly fortunate to have been a character in Lorne's story. His impact is undeniable. He loved fiercely and will be/is missed fiercely. My condolences to Kelli and the family. May all the cherished memories made and shared provide some comfort during this difficult time.
