Force of Nature - that's what I think of when I think of Lola. She was so fierce and so fearless with the most contagious smile and laugh. I will always be grateful for the impact those qualities had on my Nesta. If Lola was swimming with no floaty then Nesta felt empowered to swim with no floaty, if Lola was walking in to camp with no tears then Nesta felt empowered to walk into camp with no tears, and if Lola was a leader on the soccer field then Nesta felt empowered to be a leader on the soccer field. Some of my favorite memories from the summer are of Lola and Nesta holding hands, giggling, and jumping into the pool over and over and over again. Thank you for sharing Lola with us. Lindsay, Leke and Wynn, we are so profoundly heartbroken for this unimaginable loss. I remember seeing Lola over the summer at the pool with Wynn, happy as can be, with a big, beautiful smile on her face. Her smile and laughter was contagious. Lindsay, there are truly no words to articulate to comfort you and your dear family during this unbelievably difficult time. My first memories of sweet Lola are from the time when we were on the virtual class. I saw glimpses of Lola's beautiful and plesant smile when she peeked up on the screen with a twinkle in her eye. Again, every time I passed by her in the hallways at school she would stop and with her gorgeous smile and say, "Hi Ms. Suneeta!" Lindsay, Adeleke and Wynn, there are no words to comfort or to express the grief, the pain, the sorrow that you are going through. Please know I am here for you, always! All my memories of Lola feature her big, beautiful smile - which I was blessed to receive pretty much every time I saw her. Whenever I visited her classroom, or saw her in the hall, she'd stop, smile and wave "Hi, Ms. Kia!" It was very nice to be able to see her outside of school this fall during soccer. I'd still get a smile but even bigger because playtime Lola was always happy Lola! I'm really going to miss that.
