Thank you Koonce family for sharing Lois with my family for so many years - she was a devoted mentor, teacher, and friend.  She was always there to share her heart, a laugh, and to point us to the deep love of Jesus.  I can recall many times when  the Spirit lead her to share the right words for me. She left me with a favorite quote: "Thou shalt not SHOULD upon thyself."  I will miss her here on this earth and long for fellowship with her again in heaven.
I have such great memories of Small Group meetings, hosted by Lois! She was always ready to speak the truth in love to her friends and family. I remember a summer dinner of chili on her patio, followed by ice cream sundaes.  Lois was strong,  yet gentle with the wounded, classy yet not pretentious. She taught us all so much, just by sharing her life with us. We grieve her loss, but also rejoice that she is exactly where she most wanted to be, in the presence of her LORD.
I've known Lois since the mid to late 80's.  I found a friend that walked with me through the darkness of life while I figured out who Jesus was.  She walked with me through the 12 step program that she and Wayne hosted at their house. Then when the church started the Stephens ministry she encouraged me to be a part of that and then she and I took the theology class that Pastor Mike taught.  That's where Lois and I started kicking the can about what we learned about God, the Father, Jesus, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Then the Women's Bible study, and again we kicked that can some more while we processed what we were learning.  When she moved to Florida we still read through books and kicked the can some more wanting to learn as much as we could. The last book that we read through was the Providence that we read chapter by chapter each week.  There was so much more that I can't put down because it would take up so much space.  Such a wonderful sister in Christ that I love and will miss.
I met Lois in 1995 just before we moved to Auburn to attend Cornerstone church.  She and Wayne hosted our family.. they definitely had the gift of hospitality.  Lois was always a patient friend and always accepting and encouraging… I don’t think I ever heard negativity from her- only a sweet spirit . Although we moved from California years ago we occasionally spoke, and more so since we recently moved to Florida and reconnected. She had recently been studying a book about God’s providence in our lives and I know she believed He had her in His hands and it brought her peace.  I am grateful for her love and her influence in my life.. she will truly be missed.
Lois was my next door neighbor and I miss her so much.  She was so kind and always an inspiration to me.  We would have some wonderful conversations and she always amazed me with her wisdom about God and life.
Every (well almost 'every') Monday for 20+ years, Lois and I would meet at Flour Garden, at 11:30.  We would talk about ourselves, our families, and our Lord, and how Christ could be seen in us, in the midst of it all.  We found in each other an understanding, truthful ear, and a great sense of humor in relating the chaotic happenings of our days, knowing that God's sovereignty would see us through each moment.  Incredibly precious.

Lois was such an inspiration over the years, remembering women’s Bible study. Lois was always a great listener and taught me about speaking the truth in love.

Lois, or Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren was an incredible woman. She was a woman who wasn't content with just small talk, she truly wanted to know those around her. Growing up with her as a grandmother was a true blessing. She saw me for who I am and understood me more than anybody I have ever met. She was blunt and true to who she was. I always knew she would be honest with me no matter what, even if the truth hurt. She taught me to never stop pursuing God and that you are never too old to learn more about the Bible and about who God is. She included me in her life, brought me in as a friend, and talked for ages about the new truths God was revealing to her. I know she experienced great pain and loss during her times here, but seeing the joy and excitement she had when she knew it would all go away in the presence of her Savior will stick with me for the rest of my life. Her wisdom has changed my life and my husband Shabes' life and we are so thankful our daughter Mollie got to meet her before Jesus took her home. I know that she has influenced so many in her life and hopefully this can be a space to honor her and share about the impact she made during her time on earth.
