Llyn was very understanding of my situation and always offered to give my daughter a ride to GFS's house. She shared her music and wisdom as they rode along. Llyn was adventurous with food as well; she tried foods from other countries with no hesitation. May Llyn's soul continue to Rest In Peace.

Dear Bob, Marie and family. Llyn was a wonderful, generous person, and one I will always remember as a friend. We worked together at St. Luke's for many years in church school, youth group, and fundraisers.  She had a wonderful smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her presence would light up the room.  She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. God bless you.

Llyn.....

aka PST Carter...... aka Dean Carter

For almost 30 years, Llyn Carter was more than just a colleague—she was my right-hand person, my confidante, and my "ride or die" sister from another mother. Together, we navigated the complexities of being teacher and administrator. She was a teacher leader, union representative, Deans of Students, and program support teacher. She supported me through every challenge life presented, and I am a better person because she came into my life.

Llyn was passionate about the things that mattered most to her: her family, women's health, voting rights, and her work with Girls Friendly. She touched many lives in her own quiet, determined way, always ensuring the people she cared for felt supported and valued.

Even after she retired, Llyn wasn’t finished making her impact. She joined me at my new school, where she continued to spoil my staff with treats, student publishing, and those ever-important boxtops. She had a way of making everyone feel special, even from afar. Despite moving to Georgia, our bond remained unshakable. We texted and talked about everything—from traveling a deck building to her beloved grandchildren.  We enjoyed  our long-shared passion for education, especially when it came to the Philadelphia School District.

Llyn's dedication, love, and unwavering support will remain with all of us who had the privilege of knowing her. My family always called her "Dean Carter," they actually thought it was her first name. The title suited her well: a leader, a mentor, and above all, a true friend. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in all of us whose lives she enriched.

Llyn was an exceptional person. When I think back on her accomplishments and attributes, it's hard to even know where to begin.

Perhaps the best things to share are what comes to mind almost immediately, which are all tied to Llyn's generosity.

I first met Llyn at St Luke's. I remember her as my spunky Sunday school teacher. I also remember all the devoted time she spent helping the church and the surrounding community with outreach, youth group and Girl's Friendly.

After some time had passed, Llyn helped me get a job in teaching.

We reconnected later in life through Facebook and I will be forever grateful for that. As a result, the following happened between us, even though we hadn't seen each other in person since the late 2000's:

Llyn generously supported my efforts to raise money for autism awareness, a cause which is near and dear to my heart because of my son.

She encouraged me and offered me support when I was feeling down and out about my school district's policies and board.

She also helped me to promote my new food blog, which is a current passion and endeavor.

Without a doubt, Llyn was a wonderful person whose spirit and kindness will never be forgotten. I will always remember her for her unwavering determination and support for everything and everyone.

She was a true fighter.

Betty

Our sincere condolences to the family. Lynn was a wonderful person.  We will always remember her and her helping hand with our  rehearsal dinner.  So very kind.  May she rest in peace.
