From Loretta Diaz-Hansen:
I am sad to hear of Linda’s passing, but happy to know she led an amazing life. I met her in High School and we became friends. Since our High School time together, I’ve tried to attend our School functions and missed seeing her at our last one. Just wanted to tell her family I never forgot her.

For as long as I can remember, my mom was always passionate about art, photography, literature and poetry. She worked on many projects over the years--making pottery trinkets, sketching pictures, painting, or writing in one of her notebooks.
Her love of the written word was a constant throughout her life, starting at a young age. In 1966, she submitted a poem to the annual Iowa Poetry Association contest. Funnily, the due date for submission was February 15, the same day I would be born years later. Of the 1,689 school poems submitted that year, my mom's was one of those selected for publication in the association's Lyrical Iowa. Her submission:
Love
Love is deep and passionate.
Love is a gentle fondness.
Love is an admirable trait.
Love is a gentle kiss,
An d quiet words of faith.
Love belongs to mankind,
But hate seems their fate.

She was a great lady and didn’t deserve what my oldest brother put her through. If I had known then what I know now, I would have tried harder to keep in touch but I was just a teen.
He was a different man when he came back from Viet Nam and their relationship deteriorated we lost contact over the years, my brother even disappeared from our lives for many years ,but I babysat for Dart and Elizabeth when I was a teen and missed them when they divorced. My early memories of Linda are ones I will keep close to my heart ♥️

Linda was an amazing individual. She was always happy to see my children outside playing. I'd often drive by to see if she was outside to stop and talk with her. She always hated to ask if she needed a little help moving something in or around the house but I always insisted that she did. Loved seeing her smile and may God bless her heart. Hands down one of the best neighbors I could've ever asked for. Kids loved running over and chatting with her. She will be missed dearly.
