KISHA's obituary

The infectious spirit known as Kisha Monae (Cavette) Williams was born on the clear and crisp fall evening of October 13, 1982, at McLaren Hospital in Flint, MI. Her parents, Jerry “Keith” and Kim Cavette were ecstatic to welcome their baby girl, who would join her one and only sibling, K.C. By all accounts, Kisha was a beautiful baby with a staggering, full head of hair down her infant back! As a small child, Kisha gave her parents and the select few who would dare babysit her, a run for their money because of her bold personality and the unapologetic spoils of being a daddy’s girl! New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church welcomed Kisha’s lively and unforgettable spirit; and that was where she was baptized at an early age and introduced to Christ.

Growing up, Kisha thrived throughout her school years where it became apparent that her dynamic personality was indeed her superpower! As a vibrant, cheerleading captain and leading member in many school and community organizations, Kisha never seemed to meet a stranger with her down-to-earth and transparent delivery - to her willingness to find a warm smile or a gut-busting laugh to fit the mood, Kisha’s presence was undeniable. Not only a shining light in her family, these characteristics would also become the building blocks to adoring relationships with teachers, coaches, mentors, and the community at large, and perhaps most of all - Kisha’s endless bond with what become life-long friendships. Together, they would graduate from Flint Southwestern Classical Academy, where she’d also meet the love of her life, Seldon J. Williams III, affectionately known as “Coby”.

Kisha and Coby’s 27-year love story is an extraordinary one, filled with the kind of everlasting love that surpasses all understanding, cemented in Holy matrimony on August 30, 2014. Coby was her rock! He stood by Kisha’s side through it all and was steadfast in his commitment to their vows, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health and to love and cherish her forever. Together their union formed a beautiful family life with their children Khloe, Seldon J. Williams IV aka “Little Coby”, and Kennedy. Her children were her world. Kisha was known as a fun, attentive, creative, and loving mother, with pride and unapologetic devotion to Coby and their children. Kisha’s bond extended to her loving family and loyal friends. A niece, cousin, aunt - and a sister at heart, she created a special and unique bond with each individual. She never missed an opportunity to show up and celebrate those closest to her. Kisha was truly one of one and loved deeply.

Kisha proudly attended Michigan State University, earning a bachelor’s degree from the School of Natural Science, majoring in Medical Technology. She would go on to work in the field of her degree at Beaumont Hospital facilitating for EPIC Technology, while also embracing her entrepreneurial spirit as a successful business owner of Divine Events & Linen. Her enthusiasm for event planning extended to the entertainment industry and working with major film companies such as Tyler Perry Studios. Kisha was blessed with so many talents and passions, including her meticulous organizational skills, love for international travel, knack for cooking creative and healthy meals for her family, and giving back to her community. One of Kisha’s favorite things to do was organizing toy drives for underserved youth in the Flint community, as well as mentorship by serving on the board of the non-profit organization, Dreamchasers Inc., as the Director of Talent Logistics & Events.

Kisha’s legacy is that of pure love, laughter, and joy – always with a bright smile. Her vibrant greetings with high-pitch excitement, mama-bear hugs & hand-holds will be remembered forever.

Kisha transitioned from this life with a sea of love surrounding her on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Leaving to honor and celebrate her life is her devoted husband Seldon J. Williams III aka “Coby”, her daughter Khloe, her son Seldon J.
