Khoi's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Khoi "Mike" Truong, a man of respect, dedication, and love. Born on January 19, 1956, Khoi passed away on April 6, 2025. He was a man who will be remembered not merely for his love of life and those in it, but also for his embodiment of strong ethics, proper mannerisms and dedication to family.

Khoi, also known by many as Mike, was a man of many passions. He cherished a good glass of whiskey, a cold beer or a bottle of wine. He indulged in Mexican cuisine and could never deny a steak sandwich from Sammy's Burgers or a Hot Pocket. But he never lost the love for traditional Vietnamese food. His love for literature was profound, particularly for spy and action novels, as well as historical non-fiction.

There was always a special place in Khoi's heart for music, particularly the oldies from the 1960s to the 1980s. He held a fondness for artists like Roy Orbison, the Beatles and the Beach Boys. But when he was feeling really nostalgic, you would find him day dreaming and listening to traditional Vietnamese ballads. His enthusiasm extended to all sports, but he had a deep rooted love for football and his team - The San Francisco 49ers.

Khoi's competitive spirit shone through in his younger days when he excelled at tennis, a game he grew up playing. In his spare time, he loved going to the movies for a good spy or action movie. He was even moved to tears the first time he watched 'Ghost'.

He didn't have a specific preferred vacation spot. To him, the location mattered less than the company. If his wife, Thu, was by his side, he was content. He was fond of sharing a bite or toasting a sip with her, which would bring a smile to his face.

Khoi's persona was synonymous with pride, respect, solemnity, and dedication, all sweetly peppered with love. He was not one to shy away from speaking his mind, although he never harbored any ill-will. His life lessons, particularly his strong work ethics and proper mannerisms, continue to inspire those he left behind.

In lieu of flowers, we are raising funds for "Ong Noi's Boys". To contribute, you can visit the following site: https://everloved.com/life-of…. Your contribution would be a fitting tribute to Khoi's life and values.

As we remember Khoi, let us celebrate a life well-lived, honouring his teachings and cherishing the love he imparted. His memory will always remind us of the virtues of selflessness, hard work, and the love for family.
