Kevin's obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kevin Pearson, a loving family man, avid volunteer and successful businessman. Born on June 25, 1965, Kevin departed from us far too soon on September 25, 2023.
Kevin leaves behind a large, loving family. His wife, Penney Pearson, to whom he was married in 1986; children Amber, Isaac, and Chris; daughter-in-law, Lindsay Pearson; grandsons Nolan Pearson, Tony Verbera, and Dublin Pearson; granddaughter, Moira Pearson; mother, Barbara Mathison; father, Ted McNeil; step-mother, Carol McNeil; brothers Rob Pearson, Jon Pearson and Kurt McNeil; sister-in-laws Sherry, Candace Pearson, and Heather McNeil. His father, Tom Pearson, preceded him in death in November 2016.
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held on October 21, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts. His charismatic and caring personality will be deeply missed at this gathering of friends and family.
Kevin was an active participant in his community. He was a proud member of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he was baptized in 1988. His faith deepened, leading him to be appointed as an Elder in 2009, and he regularly served as a volunteer minister in the field ministry. Professionally, Kevin was a highly respected member of the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA), joining in 2002 and serving on the Board of Directors from 2010-2013, and again from 2019-2023. He demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit in 1992 by starting Grime Stoppers, Inc., a successful company that became a source of pride.
Despite his many accomplishments, Kevin always prioritized family. He was a doting father and grandfather, celebrating the birth of his children and later the addition of grandchildren to his growing family. He always counted his congregation as members of his family, and loved and included them as such. His love for family extended to his favorite recreational activities which included rafting, camping and traveling with as many family members as possible.
Kevin's warm and outgoing personality was a magnet that drew people to him. Known for his love of the Green Bay Packers and a good game of Pinochle, his generosity and kindness were palpable. He was a lover of good food and drink, with a particular fondness for bratwurst, Stroganoff ("that purple meat stuff", as he called it), old Scotch, and new beer. A fan of books by Clive Cussler among others, and Pink Floyd's music, especially "Wish You Were Here", Kevin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and support to all in need. He taught us how to be strong, supportive, and to always put others before themselves. His absence will be felt deeply, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. For such a small man, he leaves a large hole in our lives.
