Firstly, my deepest condolences to the Daley Family of Hopewell, Hanover for the loss of Kenneth Daley. My family (the Hanson's) were very close to the Daleys. Bro Daley was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Church, of which, at the time, my father, Rev. Seymour Hanson was the pastor. So, I lived in Hopewell up to about age 20yrs (from age 6), until my parents transferred to Mandeville, Manchester. So, in those years, I remember Bro. Daley, not only as a very supportive member of the Church, but as a great Mechanical Engineer, who loved cars, and was a very fast driver. I remember the fast speed of the Ford Capri on that Bogue stretch of road from Hopewell to Montego Bay! LOL....I also remember both him and my dad racing on that stretch of road while on our way to school in Montego Bay. Thank God, we survived those days..lol. A very calm and soft spoken person - may his soul rest in peace.

From
Rev Dr Garnett Roper. I offer my sincere condolences, solidarity and the assurance of my prayers to Mrs. Daley and the rest of her family. The news of Mr. Daley's passing has come as a shock to me. He was such a tower to me and I assumed he would always be there. I remember him as a kind and decent Christian gentleman whose personal goodness was extended to all. May the eternal God be your refuge and may you lean on his everlasting arms. The grace of the Lord Jesus be upon you all both now and always.

My prayers and thoughts are with Denise and the entire family.
May Mr Daley's soul rest in peace and may light perpetually shine upon him.

Sadly Missed by Elder Lloyd and Elsa Jarrett
Hearing of the passing of a dear brother and true friend, Elder Kenneth Daley.
The name Kenneth Daley will forever be remembered as long as the Hopewell Missionary Church exists. I remember working together in the church from 1970, serving in various capacities as leaders of the church, we had warm fellowship and friendship. Brother Kenneth had the qualities of a true Christian. He is someone everybody (any and everybody) looked up to as a Preacher, Sunday School Teacher, Men's Fellowship Leader and choir member. He sat on every decision making board. And even to say for six (6) years when there was no pastor for the church, Kenneth Daley along with the senior Elders, of the church held things together for all those years. He did so graciously. This is just a foretaste of remembering him. On behalf of myself and wife who are presently abroad, we offer these words of comfort for the family:
Weeping may endure for a while but rejoicing comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. (Psalm 23)
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed. A stronghold in times of trouble. (Psalm 8:9)

My heart is saddened by the passing our dear Elder Kenneth Daley. I grew up under the christian tutelage of this calm and humble man. I still hear his voice every time I sing certain hymns as his lovely leading voice at worship still echoes in my head and heart. He always had a smile and every interaction I've had with him in my childhood and adult years were impressive. RIP Brother Daley and sincerest condolences to Sis Daley and family. Special hugs to Debbie. Wish I was with you all to personally share in this time of grief.

Ken was the only person I would allow to drive me at 100 mph while I was asleep in the backseat! That was more than a testament to his driving skill (which he had in torrents). It spoke to the comfort, confidence and respect I had for him. Cliches aside, he was more than a father-in-law, he was like a father. After my initial ‘fear and uncertainty’ as a would-be son-in-law, he soon would become a colleague and friend. His love for his family was what was most endearing as there is perhaps nothing that Ken wouldn’t do for them. His daughters doted on him as if there could never be another man like him! His wife was fierce in her love and protection of him! His grandchildren knew he would ALWAYS be there for them – spoiling (I mean loving) them always. It seemed to me that Ken was never too tired to allow himself to be ‘harassed’ by the grandkids (and later great-grands). There was never an inappropriate time to play ‘wolf-wolf’ or cricket or to dance to some ‘oldies’. Ken (not grandpa) was always available.
Ken was an example to me in his dedication. At work, he would go the extra-extra mile for his customers (much to the chagrin of others in the business) with his biggest fault being his inability to say no. In Churchwork, he showed the consummate devotion, by spending time (oodles of time) in preparation and in the practice of ministry. He was not one to enter the pulpit unprepared (and he was always prepared for those times that ‘hands were laid on him suddenly’). And his ministry wasn't only in words, but in 'deed' - practical in its application and right where people needed him. He was careful to always include people, spend time with people, and serve people! And his serving of others was his offering to God, which he did from a heart of love and with every ounce of himself.
Perhaps Ken wasn’t a perfect man, but he was perfectly suited as a human being. He was much more than his accomplishments or failures. He was aware of who he was and whose he was. He knew where his source resided, and he knew him limitations. He knew that he was tremendously loved by God and that was something he couldn’t do anything about – except embrace God's love (which he did and never took for granted). He knew that his faults didn’t define him, but God’s grace did! He knew that God gifted him so that he might serve – and not by himself, OR for himself (for adulation) – and so he was not too proud to admit his need for help and to seek it when required.
He has played a good inning! I thank God for him and the gift that he was in my life. I pray that I might be even 'just a little bit' of the decent person that he was. “Those who (have) died belonging to the Lord will be happy … they will have rest from all their work (and) all the good things they have done will follow them.” (Rev14:13)

Sincere condolences to the family
I met Bro Ken first in 1994 on Rural Area mission to Hopewell. The Daleys hosted me for a week end. At the time Bro Ken was lead Elder in absence of a Pastor.
Then by late 1995 I became his Pastor.
He was pleasant, caring, an infectious smile, warmth and jovial.
Himself and Sis Hannah cared for My family in ways unimaginable as their Pastor.
My favorite memories of him are
1. Sunday school picnic at Fairview college. We played wind ball cricket and he was the champion bowler
2. He and I broke ground together for the lookout mission.
3. He served faithfully in the ministry at Hopewell. It was my most honoured privilege to appoint him elder - a position in which he was serving long before the formal appointment
Walk good uncle Ken. God bless
(Phillip and Erica and the girls)
