Kelly's obituary
Kelly Elizabeth McManamon (age 40) of Chicago, Illinois passed away far too soon on November 7, 2025. Born on September 4, 1985 to Theresa and Dennis McManamon, she brought joy, laughter and happiness to everyone who knew her.
Kelly was the happiest surrounded by her fiancée Dustin and her friends and family. Whether at a concert, laughing over a game of bocce ball, board games or puzzles she radiated warmth and made everyone feel welcomed. Known for her ever-changing hairstyles and her signature overalls, she had a knack for turning everyday moments into memories worth keeping. She loved shopping and fashion, spoiling her cat Lily, trips to her family's cabin in St. Germain, Wisconsin, cats, Sex in the City and anything Harry Potter. Kelly will be remembered for always making everything fun and better just by her presence. Even while battling cancer she found ways to have fun and keep a positive attitude, taking the moments of health and strength to do the things she loved. She didn't wallow in sadness and instead lived out the words of Albus Dumbledore: "Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."
Kelly is survived by her loving fiancée Dustin Kintanar, parents Theresa and Dennis McManamon, mother and father-in-law Emma and David Kintanar, sister Allison (Aaron) Bradt, sister-in-law Stacy (Paul) Rattana, brother in law Nicholas Kintanar (Michael Barajas), amazingly special friends Stef, Laiza, Niqui and Mary, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends and the entire Kintanar family. She was proceeded in death by her beloved cat Lily.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 6-10pm at La Villa Restaurant. Kelly requested no one to wear black. Be prepared to smile, laugh, hug and shed a tear.
And even though it does not feel like it in this moment, “All was well” because Kelly would have wanted it to be.
