I was so incredibly sorry to hear the news that Katie had passed away. I'll always carry memories of her in my heart, starting as the gorgeous and brilliant Yale undergrad I met in the 80s, and then the later ones of Katie as a caring wife, passionate architect, and dedicated mother. Sending deepest condolences to James, Kai, Camilla, Emma, and the whole Winter and Shulman families.

Dear James: I am so heart-broken to hear these news. We are sending our deepest condolences to you and the girls, and especially to Emma. What a strong women who lead a beautiful life. I have always admired her so much juggling everything seemingly effortlessly Thinking of you all
This news is so heartbreaking. Katie and I shared so many special moments raising our children in New York City - I always admired how patient, kind and thoughtful she approached everything. Such happy times we shared navigating preschoolers, playdates and playgrounds. She really taught me how to slow down and not take everything so seriously. She was a genuine, loyal friend. Nothing can ever compensate for the tragedy of a life cut too short, but comfort in knowing that she touched so many lives and which in essence continues through the lives of the beautiful family she created.
Katie was one of my favorite people. We first met when our girls became best friends in Kindergarten. From the park bench to walks in the park, we covered about every topic and always Katie would quietly impart her vast wisdom or understanding or curiosity about our beautiful world, but sometimes asking a rhetoric question, usually about how some people (insert politician, idiot friend) could be so stupid. . .she always made me think and laughs and I valued her friendship greatly. I will miss her enormously, and grieve heart so heavy with James, Kai Camilla and Emma. May her many memories sustain who you are and who she became with you.
