Today I found our that Dr. Charles had passed. He delivered my son in 2016 and I was researching where he is now practicing as my niece is pregnant and instead I found this :(. I still have the little blue onsie of my son's that says "Delivered with love by Joseph Charles".

My condolences to all of Dr. Charles' family and friends, he was a great OB and provided great care regardless of the patients' circumstances.

From Isma Henry

I knew Dr. Charles from his early childhood when he gave his heart to his LORD and SaviorJesus Christ. It was a pleasure for him to stand up and declare thanking God that the LORD had saved him from a "miserable life of sin at the age of 5 and 6 ". The church would say Amen. It was a pleasure hearing him giving God thanks and praise. Some of the older folks would smile and say "what miserable life of sin did this young child know?" , while another one would say "He is right because he was saved from entering into a miserable life of sin."

He grew up and pursued his God given purpose, and that was to spend his life serving the underserved. A life well spent in the service of his King Jesus Christ our LORD and savour.

Isma Henry, Friend of the Family.

  • My condolences on the passing of my classmate, Joseph.    Although it has been a while since  he was back home. I often smile when I think of my friend who was  kind, smart and had  a wonderful personality and smile.
Joseph and I were classmates in High School. We both attended Ivanna Eudora Kean and graduated in 1982. Joseph was our Class Chair for our Scholarship Committee. We were all looking forward to our 40th Class Reunion that will be held in St. Thomas next month. He was a Pillar that keep me and the entire class going. He will be truly missed.
My condolences to his wife and the entire family during this time.

The IEKHS class of 1982 extends  their condolences to the Charles family.  Dr. Charles, affectionately called "Joey", held a very special place in our hearts.  He had been chairing our scholarship committee and was an integral part of planning the reunion.  We  were really looking forward to seeing him.
