I have never been sexually harassed more hilariously than by having this manimal whispering in my ear at work.  He would wait till we lugged all the days trash onto the lift: wait till we were all locked in…and then FART the most foul ridden grossness that he was saving for us…..and during the slow 6 foot ascent to the next level we would suffer like as we choked on it,

He was a larger than life complex asshole, and yet we were all assholes. And we laughed so much about so much…but my goodness: dude was a Lift-Legend.

  We shared an appreciation for irreverence and darkness that you have from using humor to deal with….well everything.  Hurt people hurt people.  And we would often try to limit our hurt by sharing it and trying to heal it.  We had long vulnerable conversations amidst complete snark, and it never felt anything but right . We were human and we sometimes totally messed up and snarled when we shouldn’t have: but apologies were sincerely given and quickly accepted and we were on to the next.

Better people better people .  And I feel as if we were both trying to be better people.  We were both so flawed, both had disappointments, red in our ledgers.  We had hurt the ones we loved, and we wanted to change toward the people we wanted to be…not the people we had been before.

The love Jo-Jo gave to me is in the love I give to myself, and give to others.  When I pass I will share it with others and further immortalize our legacy.  People will forget who we were: but the intentional love from people who knew so much about loss, darkness, inadequacy, shame, and despair….and still found a way to find love?

That will live on.
