Our Florida family is in our thoughts and prayers...we love you guys. Childhood Florida trips were always special memories growing up and Uncle John was a big part of that. I fondly remember Uncle John’s humor – often playfully instigating when things got too quiet. His love of cards – and me learning the thrill of ‘shooting the moon’. And his on-demand movie collection, that now feels like the original Netflix prototype. He is missed. Hugs and love to my aunt and cousins.

During our senior year at Leto, Mr. Pfingsten took the time to share his experiences and insights about life. He would stay up with us during the long nights playing the board game “Risk” with Michael, James and me. He would coach us on how to an iron or driver when he would set up a round of golf at the Countryway Executive course. Always quick with a smile and a joke and there to listen.

I don't think I've ever called my brother by the name of John. To me he was JR or Junior. He is one person I can say that was always happy and concerned with how I was doing, how Jim was doing, how my kids were doing. Then came his happiness talking about his sweet wife, Marilou, his wonderful kids and grandkids, and his little dog, Rosie. When visiting him in February, I mentioned it was almost Valentine's Day..."make sure Lou gets flowers," he said. Each time I saw him after that, he seemed to be getting smaller and smaller, but his spirit was hopeful he would be going home.
We had a brother, Michael, who died as an infant. JR was one of the few people that ever actually held baby Michael. As I grew up, I would pray to my baby brother to protect and help people in my life that were in need of comfort. My prayers during the last week of his life was for that comfort to be provided to our brother JR. That Michael could hold him and help him on his journey to be with our Lord.
With love - Donna

We were neighbors of John and Marilou in Harmony. I remember when we had a murder mystery dinner, Murder in Maui, John played the dead guy. Also remember playing golf in the scrambles, him starting a chess club, and one night we did a community wine tasting and played John's wine trivia game. Rest in peace, John.
