So sorry for your loss, Carole. We loved seeing John at Shea-Bingaman family events, and we know he will be missed. Sending you best wishes for peace and healing.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I loved hearing where your travels were to next . John told me to take the trips the last time I saw him. I always looked forward to seeing you both. My condolences to you Carol and your entire family .

So sorry hear about the loss of John. Yes, you two were very devoted to each other.  Bob and I treasured our times together. Carole, may his memory be a blessing.
John Oakes was an intelligent, insightful and caring man. His career was varied and successful. He spent his retired time as an active force in his community, and an avid reader, especially about international government and politics. He was the one I counted on, in his daily blog, to make sense to me of a too often confusing world. More than that, he loved his wife and their blended and huge family, and was, for me,  a caring friend and delightful companion. He has left a gaping void and I will miss him terribly.

John & Carole were always up to traveling and a few pints.  We have wonderful memories from all our trips and it was an honor to have shared them with a great guy.  Thanks for the memories and we will be raising a pint celebrating you our beautiful friend.  RIP-

Much ❤️

Janis & John
