Summer of '23, Just for fun, I took this video when we were out at Chimney Bluffs. It's a great memory of us just hanging out on a pristine mid-summer night like we did so many times over the past three decades. FYI, John's nickname was dudemonster and he called me Goona Bird.
John loved to get the kids problem solving in the most fun ways possible. I often watched in awe as John presented activities that most teachers would never allow kids to do. I was always very eager to see what kind of crazy (yet most thought provoking) activity was going to happen next. The children loved the activities, but most of all, loved John for it! What I loved about it was that it was not only educational for the kids, but me as well! John was a true educator for both young and old alike!

"In this forest there are blossoms, there is Our Lady's rosary, there is aroeira of Saint Benedict, Saint Benedict, stand by us in this hour, aroeira."

This is a typical song that people sing in Minas Gerais, Brazil, before sipping cachaça.

Aroeira is a tree.

First year of little
I haven’t seen John since our first high school reunion but I have fond memories of times we created havoc with our friends Chris Haynor and Dan Cutie.  I’m reluctant to be more specific but we had good clean fun and then some.  John had such an unassuming demeanor and quiet disposition but he was mischievous and loved the outdoors.  I hope i properly uploaded the little league photo of John and me (in front of John) along with some of our other class of 81 mates:  Ken Mahar, Jim Smith and John Arduini.  I also have a great picture of the car we unloaded on the front steps of high school on senior prank day and if I recall correctly John took the photos.  My condolences to John’s family.  I trust there will come a day when his memory brings a smile to your face instead of a tear in your eyes.  Chris Rosetti
