John's obituary

John David Shaw, 46, of Bastrop, TX, passed away on July 08, 2023, after a brief illness. His departure was sudden, and the family is heartbroken and deeply saddened.

John David (JD) was born on January 16, 1977, to John and Johnnie Mae Shaw in Austin, TX. As a young child, he lived in the historic St. John's neighborhood surrounded by family and friends. He loved sports, running track and playing baseball and football.

JD Attended Round Rock schools. After finishing high school, JD gained experience working in various industries, but as a true creative, his calling was to make music. He loved music. Music and the creation of it was his true passion. Music was how he expressed himself, coped with challenges, and connected with others. When he was seriously injured working as an electrician, music helped him cope and motivated him to recover.

JD was a kind, caring, sensitive, and creative person who felt and experienced life intensely. JD was also fun-loving and had a witty sense of humor. He never missed an opportunity to crack a cringe-worthy dad joke or a playful pun. He had a knack for making people smile with his silly and lighthearted humor.

JD was a loving son, loyal brother, and faithful partner. He cherished his children and grandchildren more than anything else in the world. John was very loved, and his family and friends will miss him more than words can say.

A memorial service will be held on August 19, with details posted here as soon as details are finalized. If you cannot attend the service, please consider posting here on the memories tab.
