I had the pleasure of working with Johan as my manager, during his tenure in UAE.  'A Gentleman of few words, humble and leading by example'! Our team made many good memories together under Johan's leadership.

His sudden passing away came as a shock, my thoughts go out to Herlina, Kiona and Fiomena during this difficult time.

In remembrance of Johan.

You were one of my best friends and it was a chock when your brother Lars called me a few weeks ago with the tragic news. It was only a few months ago that you visited me in Västerås, to check how our house renovation went by and we once again talked about when we will retire, then we will once again start playing golf together as before, but that will have to wait until I see you in heaven.

Johan and I was part of the same track and field team in the early 90’s and we also had friends in the same ”group” that connected us. We got close and Johan soon became one of my best friends, he always had a kind word and a smile to give to sheer you up when you needed.
The years in track and field were a lot of fun and also competitive as we both were competing in sprint, Johan - after all these years it’s finally time to admit, your were the best of us in 100 meters, I hope you will have time to run were you now are!. As Johan focused on 100 meters, and I 200 meters we supported and pushed each other and had a lot of fun these years. I will always remember our trips to training camps and competitions were we shared room and really enjoyed the training and the fun with all the members in the team.

A lot of memories is floating around of course, we had nice New Year skiing trips with our group of friends, our trip to Öland to play golf and watch Gyllene Tider in pouring rain, a lot of rounds of golf of course with me and my wife Ulrika.

When you moved to Linköping, I almost moved with you :). It was often during these years that I joined you for the weekend for party and fun, jumped in the car after work on Friday and went to stay with you in your apartment and then home on Sunday, thanks for those memories, you let me be a part of your time as a student and for that I am grateful.

I also have a very fond memory of the World Cup in soccer 1994, you were in Germany for the summer working for ABB in Heidelberg and I went there to spend a week with you. We had a lot of fun with the quarter final evening as the top memory when we watched Sweden beat Rumania and advance to the semi finals, the same evening as your German friends was sad that Germany lost their Quarter Final :), we had so much fun that week.

After a few years in Västerås returning from Linköping were you lived close to me and my Wife and we could meet regularly you got to live your dream and work for ABB abroad. Of course (this was before Facebook even) we didn’t see each other as much but always kept the contact and in 2002 you invited me to visit you for a week in Singapore. I felt something was a bit strange though, you were a bit nervous and worried even, but I couldn’t understand what it was until I finally got to Singapore. You met me with the wonderful news that you had met a girl, Herlina, and wanted me to meet her. That was what you had been nervous about to tell me.

I spent a wonderful and fun week in Singapore with you both, seeing the city, playin golf in Malaysia and having nice dinners. The most vidid memory is when you and Herlina challenged me to eat the durian fruit, which still is the worst thing I ever have smelled, that’s a loving memory that I share with the picture below.

We kept the contact and you met us when on vacation in Thailand. We hade the pleasure of attending your wedding and you were always keen on stopping by our house from time to time when you were in Västerås. We talked about how old we were getting and that we should resume our golf together when we retired. We always had a standing invitation to visit you and Herlina and the kids, but sadly we didn’t find the time, and now it’s too late.

I will always remember you Johan, as the kind and smiling friend you were and I hope you have time to wait for me wherever you went, I will get there and beat you in a round of golf.

The news of Johan's sudden passing made me very sad. I had the pleasure to work with him for 6 years during my time in ABB Control technologies. He was such a great colleague and left us way too early. Also remembering his hospitality when visiting Abu Dhabi with my family in 2013 and enjoying a beautiful boat trip and pick nick. My daughter was only a toddler then, and he had even organized an infant life vest for her. His kindness will be very much missed.
When I think of Johan, two of his many great qualities come to mind: his kindness and his competence. He freely shared both.

Johan, Thank You for all the great memories, laughs and adventures we have shared.

34 years may seem like a long time, but it is far too short.

Always remembered

R.I.P ♥️

I first met Johan more than 20 years ago, I practiced German with him for a customer event where he had a presentation about Operations. We were always crossing each others paths during the past 20+ years, and I will always remember him as a smart, dedicated person with lots if funny moments, too.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Johan's passing. He will be missed! My deepest condolences.

Rest in peace, Johan.

I had the pleasure to know Jo…
2013, Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates

I had the pleasure to know Johan as a colleague, manager and friend. And I really resonate to the words about him gliding through everything that came his way with ease and optimism - that was Johan!I must admit I am still in disbelief about him untimely passing away. My thoughts remain in remembering and celebrating Johan, as well as with Herlina, Kiona and Fiomena as they come to terms with their unthinkable loss.

As a special and funny moment to remember, I share a photo I recently exchanged with Johan, as he swam to pull his boat with a broken engine to the trailer on shore in Abu Dhabi...

Shared a heart Red heart

It is such a shock to learn Johan has left us. Unbelievable!!! He is such a kind classmate and friend that we will always remember him as a great CEIBS EMBA 06BJ class member. We are so sad by his loss, however, we are so proud of being part of his life.

It is very hard at this moment,  all our thoughts are with his wife Herlina and the loved ones❤️❤️❤️

With heartfelt condolences,

Jackie

My deepest sympathies. Johan was a bright spot in my life during his year in Michigan at Atherton High School. He had such a happy and adventurous spirit and it is obvious in all of the photos he shared that he loved you and your daughters so much. I am so sorry. 💙
RIP Johan! A Swede Sweet husband of my best friend-Herlina, you always be missed!

I was working for Johan since 2019 and during this time I had the opportunity to know more about him from both business and human perspective.

Johan was undoubtedly a person with a strong business acume. He was always looking far ahead and with his creativity and enthusiasm was involving, and sometime challenging, me and the other colleagues to embrace new initiatives.

On the human side, he was a transparent and kind person, talking openly with everybody and being always supportive.

One of the things that caught my attention, is the word "Dear" he was always using to begin his email messages. This is uncommon, especially in informal exchanges with colleagues. For me that simple word was his way to tell to the receiver "I respect you and I care about you".

Thank you Johan for the priceless insights you left us as colleagues and as humans.

I express my sorrow and my closeness to Herline, Kiona and Fiomena.

Giorgio
