Jean Marie's obituary

Jean-Marie Hirst, 58, passed away on July 29, 2024.

Jean-Marie “Jemma” was born on March 21, 1966, in Phoenix, AZ, to Robert and Mary Hirst. Her early years were marked by numerous relocations as her father, Bob, served as a minister, igniting her lifelong passion for adventure, travel, and the great outdoors. Jean-Marie graduated from Madison Academy in Madison, Tennessee, before pursuing higher education at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California. She later completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Management with an emphasis in Public Relations and Marketing Communications at the University of Maryland Global Campus while living in Guam.

Jean-Marie began her professional journey with a security firm while still in school and soon ventured into entrepreneurship by starting a gift basket and floral shop. Her love for floral arrangements led her to establish Blessings in Bloom, a charitable organization that repurposed floral creations for churches, outreach programs, and nursing homes. Her career path also included roles in health and life insurance before she discovered her true calling in Contracts Management. Jean-Marie excelled in this field, working with notable companies such as Flextronics, Digital Globe, Trimble Navigation, NOAA, INTEGREON FTE, KROLL Inc., and ATI Restoration.

Jean-Marie’s personal life was deeply enriched by her Christian faith, which guided her kindness and interactions with others. Known for her radiant smile and vibrant energy, she had a remarkable ability to light up any room and touch hearts wherever she went. Jean-Marie also had a talent for music, sharing her gifts through singing and playing the keyboard, and composing several songs and accompaniments.

One of Jean-Marie’s greatest dreams was to become a mother, and it became her greatest joy. In 2012, she welcomed her beloved daughter, Isabelle (Bella), whose presence brought immeasurable happiness into her life. Jean-Marie embraced her role as a mother with immense love, dedication, and enthusiasm, taking on the roles of teacher and cheerleader with equal passion. Her love for Bella and the dreams they shared will continue to inspire and live on through her daughter. Jean-Marie would describe this dream “as an answer to my heart’s prayer”. Jean-Marie has written how she absolutely “cherishes my daughter and her ‘Mama Moon’ and I cannot imagine my life without Bella - I am so proud of her and honored as well as blessed to be her Mommie!!”

To capture the essence of Jean-Marie, we recall her favorite sentiment: “I love you to the moon and back.” This phrase beautifully reflects the boundless love and devotion she had for her daughter, Isabelle (Bella), and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jean-Marie is survived by her daughter, Isabelle (Bella) Hirst; her parents, Robert and Mary Hirst; her sister, Julie Haun, and her husband, Jim Haun; her brother, John Hirst, and his wife, Stephanie Hirst; and numerous extended family members.

A celebration of Jean-Marie’s life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Fairfield Glade Community Church, Fairfield Glade, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a fund dedicated to the care and education of her cherished daughter, Bella.
