He generously shared what he knew with me over many hours and gave me a new expertise as a writer that I continue to enjoy and benefit from. It was always clear how much he cared about the work we do at Redflash and how important he believed it to be. I feel that way myself, in part because of his passion for and commitment to those who serve our communities. His teaching was a great gift to me and he was always vocal in his appreciation of my contribution, which means so much to me. Jacob was my best friend in elementary school. We had to be separated in class because we would make each other laugh constantly. I moved out of state after 6th grade, and we lost contact. I was very happy to find Jacob in 2023 and spent a couple hours with him catching up and reminiscing. I'm saddened to hear of his passing. He will always be one of my happy memories of my childhood.
