Ivan's obituary
It is with both sorrow and with peace that we announce the passing of Ivan Huff to be with our Lord and Savior, an event he had long awaited. Born in 1961, Ivan lived a life full of passion, purpose, and fun, with deep love for God, for his family, and for people. Ivan left us after battling with Primary Lateral Sclerosis for over twenty-three years, passing on March 14, 2024.
Ivan was memorable! His character and spirit touched everyone he met. His early childhood was shaped by his family’s Christian heritage and life on the Huff farm, with roots hailing back to the early farming settlers of Arizona and southern California. He went on to attend Arizona College of the Bible, and after both marrying his college sweetheart and getting his Bachelor's degree, spent the next seventeen years in youth ministry and then pastoral ministry in New Mexico, California, and Arizona. Ivan continued to minister to others even after he had to retire, writing a book, "Cause or Effect - Are tragedies God-caused or an effect of the world?" and praying faithfully each morning with a list of over 500 people. If he had met you and you gave him your email, he probably was praying for you!
He is survived by his wife, two sons and families including five grandsons, his parents, four siblings and their spouses, and multiple nephews and nieces; and uncles, aunts and cousins, as well as extended family and friends. Ivan's indomitable spirit will be forever etched in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him.
We are thankful he can now be at peace, with a new body - and is probably leaping, running and telling jokes in heaven! He leaves behind a legacy of faith, commitment, love, enduring hope, and cherished memories.
