I had the pleasure of spending several of Ian's birthdays with him when I lived with him. We lived in Bainbridge Island and we had a great bbq and good night with our other roommate. Ian's girlfriend at the time and our friends in Bainbridge. The next year in Seattle we rented a car and drove around different beaches in Seattle enjoying the good weather and later had a little celebration with our Seattle friends. The next year was his 21st birthday and we all went out with at this point a much larger group of friends we had made from school in Seattle. We went to a bar that was a bowling alley and pool hall called The Garage in Seattle. Once I moved to The Bay Area and Ian moved to LA. I would drive down for his birthdays. We spent a great birthday with our friends we grew up with in Utah Blake and Jess at a music festival in Long Beach. The next year I drove down and we saw a concert and had a pretty mellow birthday. His parents were in town so we had dinner at a little brewery somewhere in LA. I miss you everyday Ian but think about you extra on days like today. Happy 31st birthday brotha! You are missed

The first time I meet Ian was through his grandmother. He came to my house so I could babysit him. When his grandmother came back he did not want to go home

Oh Rich and Lisa, what a beautiful boy. I am never on facebook and missed Ian's celibration. My heart breaks for you. Ian will live on forever with the naming of the dog park he fought for at a tender age.My love and thoughts go out to you and all of your family.

5 years ago, a few days before Hawaii! We hiked in Los Liones where I took film photos of Ian + Vino, then had our first sunset surf with my roommate, Sarah, (he LOVED sunsets) and then went to his cabin in Big Bear where he played a LOT of music 🎸 He had an entire studio complete with drums, bass, guitar and all. He then filled up the jacuzzi with bubbles and it was overflowing everywhere! Afterwards, he made his chicken tortilla soup and I made crab cake salad. We even brought my cat! She loved Vino: chasing his tail and doing sneak attacks. Once the pets bonded, the rest was history!

Lisa and Rich - I wish so much I had known Ian! I’m so glad to see the photos and beautiful shared memories of him here. He’s the incredible, live-life-large person, who approached it all with positive, loving passion, I would expect with you as his parents! You were obviously so fortunate to have each other in your lives!
I love you both and am so sad to think of the pain the loss of Ian (in this world, at least) has caused you. He had a wonderful life, with the most amazing parents. I’m sure he’d want you to know and focus on that.
I hope to hear stories of Ian from you soon.
You’re deeply loved and admired by so many - Rocky

Catching and cooking our own fish at Islamorada this day last year. Ian caught a yellow snapper and I caught a parrot fish which we returned back to sea since they help maintain the reef ecosystem. We had our fish cooked at Sharkey’s right after our catch and toasted the end of the day with champagne! We loved taking short trips to the keys with my rewards points from work travel. Every day with Ian was an adventure and a call for celebration! He was playing the song “Wild West End” on the speaker in the hammock when we got back.

This was one year ago today celebrating his best friend Javed’s 30th birthday. We had cake and champagne followed by sushi and a night on the town. Ian loved laughing and making each of his friends feel special ❤️

Yesterday was Ian’s service and I had the pleasure of speaking about the 5 years of love he brought into my life. I will be sharing each of our eulogies soon and will continue sharing memories from each day in years past so we can continue to remember him. Thank you to everyone who spoke and enlightened us to your unique journey with Ian. It was a day of tears, laughter, and celebration at the end led by Rich in acknowledgement of how bad ass Ian’s life was in the city and at his job. Walking alongside him as he crushed those dreams was a privilege and will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life. We love you Ian! And we always will. Stay tuned for memories ♥️

Ian was an ebullient boy, full of curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm for life. He had a golden heart and was so loved by his friends and family. We at Soaring Wings International Montessori School in Park City, Utah are holding Ian in our hearts. We are honored to have shared his journey as a child and to have witnessed his growth, living life to the fullest. Lisa, Rich and Owen, we thank you for having given this beautiful man to the world, even for such a short time.
