I work for the same company as Ian.  I never got the pleasure of meeting him, but I will always remember him.  Many hearts were shattered to hear of the devastating news.  My thoughts are with all his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Ian trying to find me in the store, and me texting him while hiding. His incredulity and quips had me in tears.

Ian would go to, I believe the Hyatt, on birthdays or just any day. One time I was invited and we began swimming all together. Lets say about 2 hours later I then noticed my phone in my pocket. We tried to go to his house after and cover it in rice but there was no luck.  I have too many stories, but they will never be enough.  Have fun climbing those trees Ian.
There was a time when we were driving home from church. Just so happened Ian and I lived fairly close to each other and were "definitely not speeding." Knowing that I had to take the longer rout for the surprise, I went through the neighborhood at a "moderate" speed as he took a right on 64th st to his house. Now this is the time when he thought he was going home and I was going home since I took my normal exit. BUT THEN I had driven to his house through the neighborhood almost beating him and causing a few chuckles.   He was surprised.  It was a good time.
My sincere condolences to Ian's family. I had met Ian when I dated his friend Derek in high school and college. He welcomed me into that friend group with open arms. My memories of Ian include the hours spent on Discord listening to his friends play video games, going camping, hammocking/climbing trees in the park behind Derek and Ian’s houses, and spending time at his apartment in Flagstaff. In 2019 during my last spring break at GCU, my friends and I traveled all around Arizona and stopped in Flagstaff on our way back to school. Ian insisted he treat us to Diablo Burgers and a few rounds of pool at a local bar, all at his expense. Although we wanted to pay, he insisted and treated us as guests, even though we were just passing through. That’s the kind of person he was. He treated me like a sister and would always be there for me by phone call or text. Ian was a great friend to so many, and I am honored to have had him as my friend, too.
