I sit pondering what to write here and there are just to many to choose from. When Ian and I cooked together it was always like cooking with and for family. He was even more of a brother outside of work. He always had my back. Often took time for a hug and even a beer when possible or other homie gatherings. Bringing smiles and joy everywhere He went. We had many ups and downs in the kitchen threw covid but with Ian I always knew we could handle anything that came our way. I wish I would of told him that.... He had a way making everyone come together with no words at all. The days he would sing the whole kitchen couldn't help but stop in awe. Everyone's day instantly got better no matter what was happening. He didn't ask or want to be a leader in anyway, I think that is what made him so great at it. I don't know anyone who knew him that did not feel his love. He will live on in my heart for all the days of my life.
To the rest of his family
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this beautiful soul with the world.
I met Ian when my best friend and I moved to Alaska for a little bit of time. We are from Texas and were a long way from what we called our home. Ian was a cook in the restaurant we both worked at, and had many bright and early mornings together. Ian always had a smile, and a funny story or joke at every turn. There was a day when it snowed heavily, and we had never been around snow or knew activities to partake in. Ian suggested we all grab tents and make a small little party just away from housing. Ian always had fun ideas, funny jokes and stories to tell. Ian was always the light of life, that people are drawn towards. He will never be forgotten, but will forever be missed.
