We are so sorry for your loss. Although we didn't know Henry well, he was always a friendly face while walking in the neighborhood or working at Sniders. He was always kind when oldest, Donovan, was young and always outside playing. Our thoughts are with you. Please reach out if you need anything.
Best,
Nancy and David Cox

In May 2017, Henry visited Boston, Massachusetts. What might be an ordinary trip for an experienced traveler was a significant trip and test of independence for Henry. Navigating the airport alone was out of his comfort zone, so he traveled from DC by train, a 7+ hour journey.
One of the reasons Henry visited Boston was to see a game at Fenway Park, and he timed his visit to watch the Orioles play. Before the game, I met Henry on Boylston Street where I showed the high-end shops, historic brownstones, and the Boston Marathon finish line. We walked through a public garden towards the green stadium. It was the same walk I made with Henry's sister Katie 12 months prior.
Unsure how a Marylander would be received by notorious Red Sox fans, Henry left his O's jersey and hat at home, but braved wearing a small "I <3 Orioles" pin. He was braver than me! The Orioles' starting pitcher was ejected during the 2nd inning, an outfielder was tossed in the 5th, and the O's lost 4-2. Still, we enjoyed the game!
What would have been an ordinary Wednesday night turned into a night to remember. Thank you, Henry.

One of the best memories we have of Henry happened at our lake cottage in Blue Ridge Shores, VA. Y'all came with us on a July 4th weekend with all the kids. Henry was probably 5 or 6 or so. As is tradition at Lake Louisa they had a day of races, competitions (including watermelon eating) and finally The Mr. and Miss Legs contest. Although our kids entered many of the competitions it was the 3-legged relay race that sticks out in my mind. Henry was one of the competitors and ran the last leg (probably with Steve if I remember correctly) and when the dust settled, they had won! After they crossed the finish line and were declared the winners by an official with a booming voice, the crowd cheered and Henry threw his head back, shoved his arms in the air and shouted, "I've never felt so alive!"
Although Henry's life was cut short, it is these beautiful memories that we will always cherish. His sunny disposition and wonderfully happy way will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Henry and so much love to all the Dunns.

oh this is heartbreaking. I have so many warm memories of Henry, Max and Graham and my Max (Klaverkamp) hanging out together. Henry was always so much own special person. His smile, his lanky loping style, his awesome red hair, his friendliness, his sense of humor, his quirky observations. He was so much himself. What a devastating loss. I am holding all of you in my heart.

Dear beloved Dunn family,
There are no words for the loss of Henry the most treasured sole of North Woodside. Every single one of us who had the privilege of knowing Henry was blessed in so many ways. The bright and generous greetings he gave anyone who crossed his path is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about our time with him. His unconditional willingness to share with you whatever was on his mind with so much joy was matched by no one. I was so proud to see the, well fought for, accomplishments he shared on Facebook. His joyful personality beaming through. Max and I are devastated by Henry’s passing. We are better people for knowing him!
