Gordon Louis Head, 89, of Redmond, Washington passed away peacefully
Oct. 25th at Peter's Creek Assisted Living Home.
Born in San Mateo, California to Charles and Maude (Withgitt) Head
October 6th 1934. The youngest of 6 children, siblings, Oliver, Robert, Ida Mae, Charles, and Dorothy.
Gordon was enlisted into military service in the army at Fort Ord in Oregon. While a patient at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. he met Ida (Edie) Filotei whom he eventually wed.
Gordon studied art at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was employed at H.J.
Heinz as a graphic artist for the Heinz's company magazine.
Gordon and Edie later moved to Goleta, California; while living there he worked at General Electric as a graphic artist and earned a degree in cinematography from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara.
Eventually they moved to Bellevue, Washington where Gordon worked as a graphic artist at The Washington Horse Breeders Association. He became a long-standing member of the Northwest Watercolor Association and taught watercolor classes at Redmond Senior Center.
Gordon was an accomplished artist, photographer, poet, and picture framer.
He was a devoted husband and father. He was a quiet, even tempered soul who enjoyed art, music, food, people, and animals of all types.
Gordon is survived by his wife Edie, sister Dorothy, and sister-in-law Angie. Also survived by his three children Jassy, David (Betty) and Christine (Robert) - three grandchildren Zoe (Warren), Gina (Adam), and Vincent (Caitlin) - four great grandchildren Luigi, Helena, Anthony and Alena - as well as a wealth of extended family.
Gordon will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery.
