This came up on my FB memories this week. World Book Day. I dreaded it 🤠every year. It was never simple with George. This one was year 5 when George decided to write his own illustrated book called The Great Goat Getaway and go as the main character. A goat!
I am hopeless at sewing and could not find any goat costume anywhere so had to improvise. The night before George was still writing the book and had me up past midnight photocopy all the pages as he felt the notebook he had done it in was not good enough to show the book author that was coming into class.
Would do anything to do another book day with you George ❤️❤️❤️

George and I went trailing round Newquay in November looking for this face ornament. We thought it was a lost cause and then we found them and George bought two. He made an Instagram account for Ruben and took photos of him in Cornwall and filmed him skateboarding! Â
Ode For George
I wrote this at the beginning of January as part of a creative challenge on Instagram for George đź’•
What's hidden behind that smile!
There you sit now on the kitchen shelf. Still smiling and pondering and hoping your owner doesn't dress you as an elf.
Do you remember your past adventures? When George had you skateboarding without your dentures.
Or your time on the beach being half buried in the sand. Placed on rocks and stones and amongst the grasses growing on the land.
Yet still you smile and do not shed a tear. When both of us so wish we could go back to that time and year.
Dedicated to my beloved son George đź’• who bought this face in Cornwall which he called Ruben and described it as a botox injected face of Thomas The Tank Engine đź¤
