Paula and I are so sorry to miss this. We would have loved to pay tribute to Gary's life and memory. He was a delight to train as a resident and was a great colleague and friend. I always thought he had 9 lives and had used all of them all too early. We will raise a toast to him on this day!
As teenagers, both attending Area H Alternative School and living in Silverlake, CA, we hiked regularly in Angeles Crest Mountains. His love for nature goes way, way back. We had a regular place as we were returning from our hikes, that made us fresh strawberry milkshakes. This was a wonderful ritual! I still have a rock from Angeles Crest that Gary had split in half and polished as my 16th birthday present. I have it displayed in my living room as a lovely remembrance of my dear friend that I loved so much-for over 60 years!!
Gary was performing a brain surgery with the neurosurgery team of Hue University hospital. A very kind-hearted neurosurgeon. We are grateful to him for what he did for us and patients in Hue city
