I was blessed to have known Gary when I was an Internal Medicine resident and then attending at Stanford.  It was always a pleasure to consult with him and his team.  He was both brilliant and good natured.  A wonderful physician and leader.  I was excited to hear he was at Kaiser when I arrived and then sad to know he left.  He will be deeply missed.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Gary.  I knew Gary through the Neuroscience Deep Brain Stimulation program at Kaiser Permanente in my role as DBS Program Coordinator for 10 years.  I loved having the whole DBS Team together on a regular basis.  Enjoying Gary's company on those days was wonderful.   He was a great neurosurgeon and individual as well.  He will be missed by so many.   Knowing Gary has been a blessing in my life.   May happy memories with Gary sustain your family and friends.
