Ocean tide seaweed rushes in.
Sea bubble foam sweeps out.
You stand, poised with
martial regal precision,
marshaling calm before firestorm gales
creaking boughs, tree tops aflame.
A keen intellect like samurai blade
sharpened to slice away
ignorance and pain, a warrior brave-hearted.
You left us wakes of blessings,
laughter echoes, gifts of healing,
ponderances warm and considered.
A smile that says ‘Can do.’
A moustache that says ‘Yee haw.’
Overland adventures beckoning,
Horizons yawning, birthday campouts calling
Us home, after a hearty “Cheers”
Effervescent, our roaming settles.
To a still point between
boardwalk roller coaster bottom drops,
Santa Cruz mountain peaks, circling hawks,
red tailed, a redwood hush, vistas
sweeping off, to the Valley, to the Sea. You stand tall,
like the grove which you call Home, a guardian
stalwart in facing tolling bells:
Of obstacles, limitation, pain, death, well…
You relished life with Zest.
A Spirit that would not relent.
A friend we will not forget.
A Soul that beams, unrepressed
Joy, Mirth, Wisdom. Your life, a blessing.
Well lived, Dear One.
Eyes, a twinkle of mischievous Secrets.
Sparkle hints at distant travels Eastern,
jousting with foes undefeated,
finding Jai Victory in ways of Being
present, empathetic, stoic. Seeing
acts of service as the real
Coin, your scalpels, flaming swords,
of healing sight.
The vineyard, the sky, the heavens
open before a Presence Transcendent.
Sizzling lightning strikes spicy, a pan fried
cast iron life of generous acts, warming hearts,
melting stodgy facts into affability.
Your axe fells, log splits, bold like CAT excavator
rolling down steep slopes, teetering, a bucket for
balance, a digger for folks who DIY hope
Because, “Why Not?!”
Take a Land Cruiser, racked up with water
and fuel overlanding into Death Valley
flower blooms, cool and calm vibrations,
into solitude, the desolation of desert fathers
calling, hot spring cauldrons, swaddling
Devotion beckoning you Home to repose, that still
point at chaos center, yours to enter, a settlement
guided by Grace, a peaceful ease, basking in Love
Supreme. Your place amongst the Stars,
and these trees majestic.
A Sun risen, now set to comet across Cosmos,
unforgettable reflections cast your Essence
over Mono Lake shimmer opalescent at long last
freely roaming, glowing, Quicksilver Light known.
Our lives, touched by this passing of night. At dawn
your visage remains strong, present. Igniting.
A noble king, a dance of playful benevolent swings,
of steel and blood, your Will of Loving Kindness
imprinted upon souls near and far, celestial bodies
healed, a Roar, a shooting star amongst friends
honored by your Self, again, burning bright, raging long
against the dying of the Light.
