I grew up with Gary and went to elementary, middle and high school with him in Sunnyvale, CA.  I believe he lived on Oak Court about 3 blocks from me.  Gary was always personable and I wish we had become better friends as I can tell by the outpour of friends and family he was cherished and loved. I am saddend by his loss and always remember him a "Sunnyvale Jets", Class of 76'. God Bless!
I just heard about Gary today. I worked with him at the Kingsgate Safeway and he was one of the hardest working and amazing people. Always the best disposition and great smile! Sorry 😢 for your loss. Natalee Thurston

My condolences to Gary's family. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I enjoyed working with him and have thought of him fondly since quitting. I appreciated his kindness and could tell by the way Gary spoke of his children that he was proud of them and what they have accomplished. When I was pregnant with my own first child, Gary was actually the first person I told, aside from my husband, and the first to offer congratulations. I was touched by his genuine happiness for me and that he and Lisa came to the hospital the day my son was born. I will always remember them being among my son's first visitors and holding him for me while I ate one of my first meals as a mother.
