Gabi's obituary

Gabriele "Gabi" Tille-Hoefs was born on July 19, 1957 in Berlin, Germany and peacefully passed away on September 23, 2024 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  Affectionately known as Gabi, she will be remembered for her warm smile, helpfulness, and carefree spirt, all complimented by her remarkable organizational skills.  A lover of the color blue, she radiated a calm and serene aura that touched the lives of everyone around her.

Gabi's greatest pride and joy were her sons,  Benjamin (Dorle) and Timo (Marisa), who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.  She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren - Aila, Frederic, and Maren, each of whom held a special place in her heart, embodying the spirit of her unconditional love and care.

Throughout her life, Gabi embraced new adventures living in multiple cities.  From her roots in Germany, she moved to Birmingham, MI in 1990, then to Vienna, VA in 2010, before finally settling Palm Beach Gardens, FL  in 2020.  Each of these places holds a piece of her vibrant spirit.

Professionally, Gabi began her career at Bosch but chose to step away from the workforce to dedicate herself to raising her children.  Her love for education continued as she volunteered and substituted at Detroit Country Day while her boys were in school.  In 2006, she joined Frimeco, and enjoyed a fulfilling career until her retirement in 2023.  Gabi's life was not solely defined by her professional achievements.   She cherished simple pleasures: her daily coffee rituals, relaxing with a refreshing beer, and diving into the pages of John Grisham novels.   She found joy in puzzles, and music, especially Aerosmith, and loved unwinding with episodes of NCIS.   Gabi was a devoted sports fan, frequently cheering on her sons and the Miami Hurricanes football team alongside Timo.

Her love for travel and photography created unforgettable memories in breathtaking destinations like Hawaii, Singapore, Portugal, and Iceland.  Gabi had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making friends easily wherever she went.

Gabi had a wonderfully creative spirit that she expressed through her crafting and knitting.  She took great joy in making costumes and clothes for her grandchildren.  An excellent cook and baker, she delighted in hosting friends and family during the holidays, always eager to share her culinary creations and create lasting memories.

Gabi's life was a remarkable journey defined by love and selflessness, and a commitment to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of values that will continue to inspire her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.  Though she is no longer with us, the warmth of her smile and the sparkle of her laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
