Fred's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Frederick Gerald Tripp, 88, of Adamstown, Maryland announces his peaceful passing on Saturday November 16, 2024.
Fred was born on October 1, 1936, to Gerald F. Tripp and Kathryn A. (Siebold) Tripp in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from North Park Academy in Chicago, Fred received a Bachelor of Science in economics from Purdue University in 1958. Fred then served as a Major in the U.S. Army in Germany and Vietnam as a rotary and fixed-wing pilot. He met Christa Diener in Germany, and they married in 1961. During his military service, Fred received a Master of Business Administration from Lehigh University in 1964.
Fred was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1967. That same year he married Terry Shull Getman in Chevy Chase, Maryland and began working for the Computer Sciences Corporation. He received a Ph.D. in Business Administration from American University in 1972. In 1983 Fred started his investment management firm Frederick G. Tripp & Associates. In 2004, Fred retired and moved to Park City, Utah.
Fred enjoyed playing board games with his children, family vacations, flying, boating, skiing, traveling, playing poker and bridge. In retirement, he continued to partake in his favorite activities and added mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, and volunteer work.
Fred is survived by his five children: Mark (Emma Baker) Tripp, Karin Coburn, Tracy (Steve) Clark, Tricia Tripp and Patrick Tripp, his six grandchildren, Samantha Clark Kasik, Thomas Clark, Robert Coburn, Charles Clark, Sydnie Clark and Daye Tripp, his three brothers, Thomas Tripp, Steve Tripp and Jeff Tripp, and his former wives, Terry Tripp and Christa Culhane.
