I had the honor of meeting Bac Phan, first as an employer then as family. He is a patriarch of this family and an excellent role model for us all. Many can attest he was a true instrument of God. Every encounter, albeit brief, was an opportunity for God to speak to me. Whether it was to console, encourage or advise it came from a place of love. I will always be grateful for his words, his kindness and inclusion to his wonderful family.
To his family I send love and prayers. I know in my heart Bac Phan has left you with everything you need to overcome any sorrow - your Faith and each other.
I pray that God continue to make the bond between you stronger, your faith deeper and until you meet again - time imperceptible.

Bac Phan was such a kind man. Although I didn’t see him too often, the few times I did - he was always so welcoming.
Sincere condolences to the family and may God rest his soul.

We are all deeply sadden at the loss of a business leader, a generous church benefactor, a good, solid citizen, and a very dear friend. As a man who always wears a smile on his face, in an energetic body, Mr. Nguyen seemed to leave us a bit too early when we all still have much expectation of his contributions to the society.
As a political refugee who came to the US empty handed and hardly fluent in English, Mr. Nguyen built a thriving business sector in Haltom City. He brought a well needed momentum to energize vitality to the Belknap corridor when he established the Vietnam Plaza. He made quick business decisions, willing to take calculated risks and all these were measured by a vision ahead of his peers.
Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen seemed to call his Our Lady the Fatima Church on Lancaster as their home. They are seen there all the time whenever I was there. And the Nguyen’s generous contribution on time, energy, finance and his leadership as the Church Council President have been second to none. But he did them humbly and quietly.
All his children are successful in all fields. He taught them the principles of good, successful business early in life. We know that he has been proud of his children. We all are concerned for Mrs. Nguyen as he has been the backbone for his wife. He has been her personal driver.
As a friend, whenever Mr. Nguyen showed up at my business, I knew that he wanted to share some concerns for the better welfare of the Vietnamese American Community. Or talked about a project to help a Church that I have never heard of in Vietnam. There was one time he came and then left me with a nice bottle of Remi Martin. An expensive one. And that was the first time I knew what a good Cognac supposed to be.
We are all sorry for this big loss. But we also knew quite well that Mr. Nguyen has lived and truly enjoyed his life the best way he knew how while building a good family, a successful business, becoming a good Christian and one of the best human being. See you in heaven sooner or later my Cognac friend. was [ how you felt ] when I heard the news of Phan (Frank)'s passing.
