Erik and Kat in LA - first be…
Erik and Kat in LA - first beer (and kombucha) of the trip. It was over these couple drinks that we fleshed out hopes and dreams for the immediate future after I recently got promoted. Erik was always such a great mentor, advocate, and friend to me. Erik's sincerity and authenticity helped make him so easy to connect with. We could all aspire to do that a little more not just in work but in our personal lives. Haven't met someone nearly as passionate about his family, traveling, and design. I know what my memories of great conversations with Erik will continue to be soothing tender balms (even during the pangs of great sadness). I’m so lucky to have met and befriended him. I’ll continue to pull myself up by the bootstraps when the (design+life) goings get rough - beer in hand of course.

Had a long layover at Newark. So blessed to have had this time with Erik. Catching up on life, music, and grieving the loss of Ozzy. Each time we would get up to leave, my phone would ping with another flight delay. Signaling another round! I have never been so excited about flight delays. Didn’t realize the Lord was blessing us with just a little more time together.

I was heartbroken to hear of Erik's passing. The world has lost a remarkable soul and the sky has gained a bright, shining star.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy to the family. I feel truly fortunate to have known Erik and to have been touched by his kindness, positivity, and humor. His memory will always live on in our hearts.
