Dearest Kathy and Bob, my heart is breaking for this situation. For your loss and for Elyse herself…there are no words. I appreciated her so, so much and the time I got to spend with her. And she absolutely adored her parents. Thinking of her, and both of you, daily if not hourly, and sending as much love and support as humanly possible during this time. Please know how much we loved her, and how much pain there is in all of our hearts with this loss.

We are so sorry to hear of Elyse’s accident and death. We had the opportunity to spend time with Elyse when she came to visit Andrew and Liz on many occasions . We were always happy to have her at our home and various family events such as Thanksgiving last year; she was a joy and always brought fun and energy with her. 

Unfortunately, we know all too well what you are going through. The pain, huge void and sorrow has been unbearable in losing Andrew, as we know it is for you with Elyse. These things make no sense and there is nothing worse in this world than losing your child.  Please know that the Plagens family is thinking about you and wishing you peace through your beautiful memories of Elyse. Dear Kathy and Bob,

     I’m so very saddened to hear of Elyse’s passing and the profound grief you are experiencing.  Elyse was a treasure to have as a student, and even as a young girl her zest for life and learning kept me on my toes!  She was clearly a luminous soul and I consider it an honor to have been her teacher.  Please know I will keep you in my prayers and hope that in time, wonderful memories of Elyse will help you through your sorrow.
