Background
Elmer was deeply committed to helping those who could not help themselves with treasure, time, and talent. His entire life reflected this. He had come to do this out of his faith in Jesus Christ.
Elmer was the child of a single parent. Many of his hard life experiences shaped his love and compassion for others. He rose above his circumstances achieving advanced college degrees in Education, teaching teenage offenders, and operating his own company. He was dedicated to social and political action for justice and equity.
Along the way, he remained humble, committed, and served others wholeheartedly. During retirement, he focused on mentoring young people and volunteering.
Just before his death and not knowing he was going to die, he shared some of the things he wanted to work on to help others. His focus was on helping disadvantaged children, college students needing help with tuition, and young people who were working on ideas to change the world.
This memorial fund will allow the heart of Elmer to keep beating and living to serve others on those things to which he wanted to commit his time, talent, and treasure.
You may give to his memorial fund on this page or directly to the Shepherd's Place Children's Home at https://www.theshepherdsplacechildrenshome.com/. Shepherd's Place was one of the organizations close to Elmer's heart. Contribute
