2011, San Jose, CA, USA
I was his Au pair for a year in 2011-2012.
The memories we created will forever in my heart. I loved tickling him because making him laugh was one of the bright spots of my day. He loved my foot massages and Maggie's back scratches. And he was always looking for ways to smile and make others smile. A good buddy to have around all the time. He was loving, helpful, kind, and sometimes a little stinker to his brothers. His fast tiptoe steps were one of the first things I heard every morning. And I knew Drew was up and it was time to get up and make breakfast.
I started doing those fast tiptoe steps to make my then boyfriend Trevor laugh, and he started doing it as well, it was our internal joke and a lot of laughs. Drew touched everyone around him in more than one ways.
When I'm in heaven and I hear those fast tiptoe steps I'll know my buddy Drew is just around the corner and he will make me smile again.

Dear Nixon Family,
From Dominik, myself, and Petra, we send our sincere condolences to your family. We are very sorry for your loss. Drew was a great person and teammate. We got to know Drew during the 2017 AAA (10-11yr olds) at LGLL. There were lots of strikeouts and plenty of tears in the dugout for many players that year. One tries to constructively console players in those moments. To such efforts Drew sometimes responded with an unexpected quip and not knowing him so well at that point I would think is this kid pulling my chain or what, and of course he was! Drew always supported his teammates and, as the primary catcher on our squad, he was an anchor for us. Perhaps against the odds with a rookie manager, our Red Roosters team made it to the championship 3 game series against arch rival blue team. Series was tied going into game 3, and we were down a few runs as the home team at the bottom of last inning, and we may have been 2 outs down with winning runners on base, when Drew came to bat. In a moment of focus at the plate and personal clarity that I will never forget, Drew hit a line drive to left center and brought in 1-2 RBIs for the walkoff championship win. It was amazing, and the elation on Drew’s face and on the faces of his teammates I will never forget. He did it!

There are no words. Sending heartfelt sympathies to Team Nixon. Will always have fond memories of when the boys showed up at the office, in 950 when they were little and building 100 as they grew, there was always the gift of raucous laughter that surrounded their presence. Drew lives on in your hearts and memories. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Tom, Maggie, Cooper and Eli,
I am so, so sorry to learn of your loss. I have memories of my Dylan and your boys playing together going back 14, 15 years ago now. I remember Drew's awesome personality, even at such a young age. Our thoughts are with you all.
