Oh Donnie. I am honored to have met you on those rare occasions and you would show me pictures of your "Pride and Joy".... this fucker had pictures of dishsoap in his wallet and showed people. ☠️🤣🥰
I just read in the Keene Shopper that Donnie Blake passed away. Donnie was one of a kind! He’s a throw back to our era and I’d be hard pressed to find anyone back in our Jr./High School days that doesn’t have a Donnie Blake story. He was a master at the “slight of hand”! To this day my Donnie story would be his arm wrestling feats. I remember in High School he could put down any and all challengers usually with ease. Donnie wasn’t a big guy, but I remember huge football/wrestling types ready to take him on and whimper away after being humiliated. How Donnie did it I’ll never know. Technique? The Force?
Donnie had a great sense of humor! Wayne has so many softball, flag football, basketball stories! Most of all he was a friend to hang out with; our house, his house, out to eat every weekend before kids! I also grew up in the neighborhood. He will be missed!
I was shocked and a little overwhelmed when my Neice, Deb Rousseau told me about you my friend. We have not been in contact for awhile but when I heard your name, it took me back to the halls of KHS..
RIP my friend and may you arrive at your next stop along the way riding a warm gentle breeze and lazily setting down when you recognize someone.
I will miss you but I have our memories of life in Keene. Save me a place in the best section - maybe even a window seat so we can keep track of who comes and who goes...Bless you Don.
Don and I played on Fish Roofing and Siding, phase 2, softball team. We won a number of championships in the Keene softball tournaments. If memory serves me correctly, Don was a MVP for at least one of those championships. Your Dad played centerfield and he could run like the wind. He was a tough nosed scrappy player. Even though we did not stay in touch, it saddens me deeply for your loss. Don, here's looking at you and my hope is you are very happy wherever your soul may go. God bless.
I had no idea that Donnie had passed away, we go way back to the times when he and his sister Drew lived on Dover St. we all grew up in the same neighborhood and hung out many times back in the day. I send my love and condolences to the Blake family, I'm so sorry!
