BODEGA BAY-
The Force lives here. Breathtaking beauty and nearly prehistoric vibrations flow through these rocky cliffs today. It is astounding and leaves no room for atheists. The wild drama of the California north coast is most accessible
at this point. Not so remote or overwhelming as the Point
Reyes coast an hour south, this spot of civilization has intruded on the age old process of the ocean crashing against the shore. All of the north coast is more dramatic than the movie set shores of the central coast. Only a dark, foreboding mystery would be set here. Or "The Birds".
Rock cliffs rise majestically and prominently at every turn of the road. The little port of Bodega is nestled in the cliffs. Homes
are scattered on the sloping moors. The post modern red and cedar wood homes of the Yuppies nearest the sloping ocean overlook its tourist haunts . Further down, the real village, the fisherman's hang out and homes, and the real marina come into view . They live their own separate... Read more lives here
The sea air is incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating. It is an elixir which lets you breathe deeply, more deeply and freely than ever before. The oxygen reaches the brain in greater supply and a clarity of time and place occurs. A deep and peaceful vitality results that brings you the concentration to focus on life's real questions.
Above all there is the relentless pounding of the sea and blowing of the wind. Trees bow, permanently bent in shape by the wind. In the fall, the ground cover of ice plant
turns red like maples from a lack of moisture. The whole surface of Bodega Head is covered in an autumnal glow. It will turn green and blossom with the rains of spring.
High above the sea on Bodega Head the weather changes
quickly and moves rapidly in from the sea. Nature here is the ever changing beauty of the moment surpassed only by the next. Walking along Bodega Head, following paths down to the white foam of the ocean, running along the beach of the plunging shoreline it is easy to set one's personal vibrations to the pounding surf. It is easy to believe one is the first person, first human to set foot on this land.
East and West meet in the golden sunset. Eternity and immortality no longer can be doubted. Read less
