DeVaughn “Von” Edwards
Sunrise: May 7, 1966 - Sunset: November 4, 2025
DeVaughn L. Edwards, affectionately known as "Von" or "Miss Von," was a woman whose life told a story of strength, honesty, and perseverance. She lived on her own terms, never pretending to be anyone but herself.
Von faced her share of battles in life, including a courageous fight with lung cancer. Through seasons of hardship, she met every challenge with grit and determination, often reminding others that God had her covered. Her faith carried her through even the most difficult moments.
She was outspoken, strong-willed, and unfiltered, but behind that bold exterior was a woman who loved deeply. Her heart belonged to her children, grandchildren, and to her beloved dog, Bella Rose, who was truly her constant companion. Outside of her children, Bella Rose was her everything, a source of comfort and unconditional love.
Von enjoyed the simple things that made life feel good: watching her favorite shows like MASH and Bonanza, drinking her favorite juices, playing Spades, and cheering on her team, the Washington Commanders. She loved to cook, especially seafood, and believed that a good meal could bring people together in ways that words sometimes could not.
Her life was not perfect, but it was real. She faced addiction and illness with courage and fought hard to keep going. Even when life tested her, she kept her faith in God and believed that better days were still possible. Von taught those around her to be resilient, to speak the truth even when it was hard, and to never lose faith no matter what life brought.
Von was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Wilbur Coleman.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three devoted sons: Carlos Page (Charniel), Jayson Edwards (Precious), and Justin Edwards Adekanla Sr.; her (13) beloved grandchildren DeVonte Page, Christian Page King, Andrew Page, Aaron Page, Alayna Page, Justin Edwards Jr., Jacob Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Jhyra Jadore Edwards, Jada Javon Edwards, Josiah Jayson Edwards, Savion Jacier Olarry, and Kennedy Kmoni Olarry; along with extended family, friends, and all who loved her deeply.
Von’s fire, strength, and honesty will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and authenticity that will continue to live on in her family. Though she has gone from our sight, her voice, her strength, and her spirit will live on in the lives she touched.
