Kent's obituary

David Kent Williams went to his heavenly home on November 28th 2020 at age 58.

Kent was born to David and Sandra Williams on November 29th 1961 in Amarillo, Texas. As a child, he loved playing baseball, waterpolo and riding dirt bikes.

Kent met his wife, Micky in 1985 at the San Leandro Church of Christ. They married on March 8th 1986 by Kent's Uncle Phil and went on to have 3 children, Jenna, Benjamin and Leanna.

Kent lived in Amarillo until the age of 5, when his family moved to Boston area where he would live until age 11. His family then moved to Fresno, California where he would stay through his graduation at Clovis High School. After high school, Kent went to Oklahoma Christian College where he graduated with a pre-med degree. He then moved to San Lorenzo, California to attend Chiropractic school. After practicing as a Chiropractor for 7 years, Kent decided to go to Ross University School of Medicine on the island of Dominica. After graduation, Kent moved back to Oklahoma with his family to complete his residency. In 1998, Kent was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After an intense battle and a bone marrow transplant from his brother Grant, Kent was finally cancer free in 2001 and would remain so for nearly 20 years. After practicing medicine in Oklahoma for several years, Kent and Micky decided to move back to the East Bay Area of California to be closer to family.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Kent was dedicated to his patients and the medical professionals he worked with throughout the Bay Area. He also loved playing guitar (he was even in a band called Incision Decision with his fellow doctors/nurses), golfing, scuba diving, camping, singing hymns and listening to acapella music, riding motorcycles with his son Ben and possibly most of all tinkering (he was a master mechanic and could fix just about anything!)

Throughout his entire life, Kent had faith in God and a dedication to loving his family and extended family and spending time with them whenever he could no matter how far he had to travel.

Kent joins his father David, his Uncle CH (Mary), his Aunts Sally (Eric), Linda (Layne) and Cathy, his brothers/sister in law Glinda, Buck, Vic, Mike in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Micky, his children Jenna (Andrew), Ben and Leanna (Ben H), his mother Sandra, his brother and sisters Grant (Carrie), Sarah (Jeff) and Sharon (Creighton), his Aunt Bobbie (Eric and Lorrie) and Uncles Mark (Ning), Johnny (Joyce) and Billy (Leatha), his sisters in law and brother in law, Diane, Kathy, Donna (Joe), Merida (Frank), Binky (Matt), Danita (Dennis), Chuck (Tammy) and many many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews that he loved dearly from near and far.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
