This man was my Uncle Dave❤️…… He was such an encourager. When I was very young he had to “encourage” me to get in his very, very old truck to go visit my Aunt Jody. I went kicking, screaming and crying. We made it! As a young teenager I had the privilege of staying with Dave and Jody the summer Chad was born. I helped take care of Matt. Uncle Dave” encouraged”me to go pick blackberries back at the canal so I could bake him a pie. As an adult he “encouraged” me to join he and Aunt Jody in a missions trip to Guatemala. I said I would think and pray about it. If you knew my Uncle he didn’t leave it at that. He called me a few days later for my decision. It was only 2 months until the trip. He made sure I had what I needed to go on that trip! What an awesome experience for me. Thankful for his encouragement! I went 8 years. He usually called me the night before the trip to wish me a good trip and to let me know he would be praying. So thankful for his example and will miss him greatly! Until we meet again❤️❤️❤️you!
I was so sorry to hear about David's passing. He was such a humble and faithful  person.
I first met Dave at Faith Lutheran Church in the early 1970's. With children similar in age, we interacted often at youth activities. Dave was one of the most kind and generous people I have ever met. No matter the situation, I can remember that calming voice. Always with a smile and positive demeanor. Matt, Chad, and Todd, you were blessed to have Dave and Jody as parents.
Being married to Joseph, I was lucky to be around your family for so many years. Matthew has been Joseph’s best friend since the second grade. He was the best man in our wedding, and our youngest son is named after him. ( Luke Matthew) I personally have many memories of your father but I will share just one. Joseph and I got married in 10/2001. Of course your parents were in attendance. We were young and not a penny to our name. During the dollar dance, your dad put money in the box, and danced with me. He was a very good dancer. Always the gentlemen. After our wedding and we were getting ready to head back to Fort Campbell, KY to start our lives together, we counted up our money to see what we were starting out our lives with. Long story short he and Jody, gave us a donation, let’s just say was more than a dollar. I remember thanking him on the phone, and he of course in a gentlemen fashion, just told me how much he loved Joseph, and how grateful he was such a great friend to Matthew.. I have plenty of other sweet memories of being on your family farm but I’m going to keep them locked away in my heart. Our deepest condolences to the sweet Geise family. We love you all.
