David was a wise and trusted colleague at the St. Joseph Health System, and a good golf partner at various tournaments. A true leader in health care who will be missed.

David was a wonderful man. I loved working with him and his technologies. He has left a wonderful legacy of which I know he was very proud.
Anne and I send our sympathy and love. Dave was someone whom we deeply respected and also had a LOT of fun hanging out with. That’s a rare combination and he will be deeply missed.

I was very sad  when I heard the news of David's passing. I knew from his days at BCYC and CIYC.  We worked together in getting Johnny Carson's side kick Ed McMahon  to come and headline a fundraiser for CIYC at a home on Catalina. He was a delight to work with and party with during our time working together.

Go with the wind at your back to bigger and better things.

David was a wonderful uncle and a joy to be around. I know he will be greatly missed.

So sorry for your loss. Death of a parent is never easy.

Susie

I was so sorry to hear about David's passing.  Sending heartfelt condolences to you and your lovely family.  🌷

David had such a warm and friendly personality.  He was always up for a good chat and had a wealth of information to share.  It was such a joy to see him around the Bay Club and he will surely be missed by many.  🥰

Blessings,

Bridget Patty

One of my fondest memories of David is of the day I took over his position as CIYC Secretary. He greeted me with 3 large boxes of documents and had the biggest grin on his face I've ever seen. Wish I had taken a picture!

Lynn and I had many fun times with David and Virginia.  We'll miss them both.

You have many wonderful family memories to cherish.

Sending our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of David Reed. We will always remember his kindess and ganuine smile. He is missed by us all.

We were so sorry to hear about David's passing. He was a kind, caring,  humble person who was a wonderful role model to his family.

We met David a few times through Betsy and Kathy.  We had the pleasure of visiting his home at the yacht club and sailing on the Duffy boat. However, my best memories are seeing Betsy light up when she'd talk about her Dad and share stories and videos of him giving his grandchildren advice over the holidays.  Mary Ellen

Reeds and Metz's were long-term partners on our yacht "Fantaseas". ( see above picture of Dave and Ginney on Fantaseas).Upon closing our purchase, we went to lunch with the express goal of "brainstorming" a name for our new boat. One of Mike's best suggestions was "Fruits of the Sea". While not a great suggestion, in the spirit of brainstorming, everyone valued Mike's input.........NOT!! I got heat over Fruits of the Sea for like 2 decades!!!

What a beautiful tribute to your Dad, Betsy. We have great memories of the times spent with both David and Virginia. David was a light in your family.  Sending condolences and love to you and Chris, Kathy and Amy too.
We are so sorry to hear of your father‘s passing. Such a cheerful person, and a pleasure to be around. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please try to rejoice in the time you had together. May those memories bring you comfort. Tina and Paul Cartwright

Dear Reed Family,

During this difficult time I want to give my sincerest condolences. Loosing a loved one is an extremely difficult thing in life, and we are left with heartache and sorrow. May you and and your family find in comfort in knowing that our God Jehovah deeply cares for you and your family. He will soon reverse the effects of death by bringing a resurrection. John 5:28,29 says: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” May this promise that will soon be fulfilled give you strength.

Stewart and I have very fond memories of Ginny and David. We were ziplining on a CIYC trip to Costa Rica and I crashed into Ginny in midair. I was black and blue everywhere. She was unscathed and undaunted. We became fast friends. I remember standing on the balcony of their Avalon condo hoping we could support the weight of too many people in a small space. The next year, they hosted us at Mi Casita and we drank too many Margaritas.

Anita and I are very sad that we cannot attend Dav's event.  We will not be in southern California from 27 Feb through 1 March.  We have fond memories of Dave at CIYC
David was best friend for 35 years and we miss him so much.  We have many great memories and adore all his family.  We needed just a few more years with him.

Our deepest condolences to all of you.  Sorry we will not be there for the Celebration of Life, I know it will be special, commemorating a life well-lived.   I have such fond memories of David (and your Mom) and all our fun times at CIYC.  He will be missed…
