Danny. Kind Hearted,Friendly, always in a good mood, best Bass player around, he is missed

Did you know my uncle D was the greatest bass player to ever play?

He learned to play when music was transitioning from bass players using their fingers, to using a pick.

Based on this, he would play with a pick hidden in his hand, and when he wanted to play chords he would roll it out to his fingers and play.

Mr. Frank Gomez himself has always  said that uncle D was  the most talented musician in the family.  To this day I’ve never heard a bass player play like Uncle D.

Uncle D gave me my first job putting his initials on his tools.

If you’re a mechanic you know how important it is to label your tools. My uncle D had so many tools he literally had issues keeping up with them. All Snap-On, all top quality.

Enter me. A kid just wanting to be a part of what they had going on…not the music side but the mechanic side. My uncle D let me engrave his tools with ,”DG” as my first job as a mechanic.

It was a lesson I repeat every day.

.

My biggest regret to this day was painting over his work making Betty’s  “Girls only” club house. Me and Catfish thought it would be funny if we painted over the pink with blue. No  telling where we got the blue. I wish I could go back and let him know how good of a job he did with the Club House.

I have so many memories of Uncle D that I’ll have to choose what comes first.

He was a man of substance. Only Aunt Connie has ever worked  as hard as Uncle D worked. 6 days, 12 hrs a day to provide for their family was a normal work week.

🕊️Danny was such a beautiful so kind, friend ♥️Rick and I treasured his friendship♥️  We always looked forward to seeing him almost every weekend for many years!  Danny is thought of and missed greatly🦋

Gina and Rick Tenorio

Danny was a beautiful man with a beautiful soul.  I was so honored to know him and when he rejoined his brothers Frank and Joe on stage, I finally got to hear and experience what an amazing musician he was as well.  I’ll never forget how much joy it brought his family, especially his mom, Betty Ruth, to see him perform again.  Danny just had a magical way of lighting up the stage.

We will all carry with us so many wonderful memories of Danny…his smile, his laughter and his happiness, especially when he performed with his brothers. We lost a great friend on earth, but heaven gained a beautiful angel.  Until we see you again Danny…we love you and miss you.

My sweet Betty I can’t believe it’s been this long now since your father fell asleep in death. The words in the Bible book of Job 14:13-15 bring me great comfort in knowing Jehovah God has not forgotten those we have lost in death.  I share the following words with you based on this scripture.

Life, like a mist, appears for just a day,

     Then disappears tomorrow.

All that we are can quickly fade away,

      Replaced with tears and sorrow.

If a man should die, can he live again?

Hear the promise God has made:

He will call;  The dead will answer.

They will live at his command.

For he will have a longing

For the work of his own hand.

So, have faith, and do not wonder,

For our God can make us  stand.

And we will live forever,

As the work of his own hand.

Friends of our God, though they may pass away,

Will never be forsaken.

All those asleep, who in Gods memory stay,

       From death he will awaken.

Then we’ll come to see all that life can be:

        Paradise eternally.
