We, at the "Voices of the Harbor" Toastmasters Club in San Pedro, CA want to express our deepest condolences to his wife Erica, his family, the Toastmasters who celebrate his life, and also to Marcia LeMon, who was a member of the Port of Los Angeles family. Our club serves the Port of Los Angeles but is open to the public as well. Dana graciously agreed to be a guest speaker for our club in 2018. The event was held in our Harbor Commissioners Board Room. Dana attracted a full house. He encouraged attendees to join our club to increase their networking with Port employees and to become distinguished leaders. Julie Broady of Toastmasters District One, who has helped our club so much, was able to participate in the inspirational event. Dana was a human being who met adversity and challenge head on. Like the shining beacon of a lighthouse, he showed us our true potential, even when life put the unexpected in our path.
Dana LaMon was and still is a tremendous inspiration to me in various forms. Every time I greeted him he knew my name, his warmth was exemplary and touched my heart beyond description. His legacy lives on  with his biological and Toastmasters Families. Thank you for opening My Eyes and your impactful contribution to me. My sincere condolences to the LaMon Family.

In 2021, I sent him a birthday message via LinkedIn, his response was that he hoped to live 2-3 more decades.    I'm sorry that his life was shorter than he thought it would be.   Watching his celebration of life this afternoon, it was obvious that he made a huge impact on so many lives.  He certainly did on mine.  I'm blessed to have known him and will keep you all in my prayers as you grieve your loss.     Carol Sauceda, DTM
