Dear Craig,

We would like to post our memories with you. Our son, Renta, met you and Marty when he was 20 months old. Do you remember Renta ate a lot of your apples in your frontyard?

We made special dishes for you last night on our special traditional Japanese table which you crafted for us in 2021. We hope you enjoyed it. We want to tell you how much we love our table and how much it means to us.

“Thank you” so much for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and warmth.

With lots of love.

Taro, Yuka & Renta

Marty,
It has been a very long time since I have spent time with you and Craig. I have never forgotten all that the two of you did for me as a young woman starting her physical therapy journey. I had an immediate fondness for Craig. He was an incredible mentor and support for me. He was so funny and we connected with humor and the love of people. Your family took me in during breaks, kept me fed by giving me work (lol), trained me how to start to learn to be a good healer. I feel blessed to have met Craig, to work at OPT, to make friendships with Amy and Betsy. It was all due to you and Craig that I was able to make it through PT school, training and move on into a "real job". You also had a hell of a Halloween carving party! I feel fortunate to have rekindled a strong relationship with Betsy and from her learning and hearing about your lives together. Marty, I cannot even imagine your pain. Craig was a great man and really cool dude.

Back when Craig and Marty lived in Seattle, Craig, our friend Bill,  and I would often head up to the north entrance to Mt. Rainier to hike. On our way home to my house in Puyallup, we could stop and pick “oodles” of Rasberries and blackberries to make jam or something to cook up.

I remember stooping down between rows of berries and hurling the over-ripe ones at each other. Craig was a master at this!

We would come back to my house and as we made jam, Craig would cook up some amazing feast and Marty would arrive with sweets and wine.

Happy journey dear friend, your light shown bright on us all.
