Chris's obituary

Christopher John Stewart was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on September 13, 1953. He passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024 in Chon Buri, Thailand with family by his side. He is survived by his wife Prapri "Juan", son Dylan, daughter Jennifer Stewart-Boyle (Cameron Boyle) and sister Caroline (Trevor) Kennerd. He is predeceased by his mother, Eirlys (Evans), and father, Ronald Stewart.

Chris had a fulfilling sales career in the energy industry that took him all over the world, allowing him to make friends far and wide. It was during his travels to Singapore where he met the love of his life, Juan, with whom he would have celebrated 33 years of marriage in August. Thailand always held a special place in his heart. It was where he most enjoyed spending time and where he desired to retire with his loving wife.

Christopher was a devoted family man, a cherished friend, and a pillar of support for those around him. In his younger years he showcased his musical skill as a talented Bagpiper, playing in various Pipe Bands and was a favourite with Highland dancers. He treasured memories of his piping days and the lifelong camaraderie it brought. He had a knack for storytelling, often sharing tales of his time living in Jasper, his worldly travels and the countless adventures he had with friends. More recently he enjoyed going for long leisurely bike rides, scenic drives in his beloved cars, and was always open for a coffee to catch up any time.

In addition to his love of travel, his family, and connecting with people, Chris was kind, caring, and selfless, always putting others first. His warm personality and ability to make everyone laugh endeared him to all who knew him. His infectious laughter, and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chris will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His legacy of warmth, laughter, and friendship will continue to inspire us all.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sheraton Eau Claire in Calgary on June 6th at 1:30pm.
